MAIN DINING

The Elegant Main Dining Rooms are a Great Place to Start the Evening with a Five-Course Meal.

The main dining experience still remains a wonderful way to share your holiday experiences and meet new friends as the same table will be reserved for you and your table companions every night for first, second or on some ships, even a third sitting, typically at 5.30pm, 6.30pm or 8.30pm depending on the ship, itinerary and cruise line.

Cruise Ship Main Dining

You simply need to request your preference for first or second seating when you book and the table size you require, confirmation will be given before you set sail. On entry to the main dining room you'll be treated to beautifully presented cuisine, exquisite surroundings, exceptional personal waiter service and an enticing menu night after night.

Most cruise lines have introduced a casual approach to dining across their ships, moving away from the more traditional two seating main dining experience. These cruise lines offer either alternative anytime dining options in the main dining rooms or in the more casual restaurants. You choose when, where and what to eat, from Spanish and steakhouses to Oriental or Italian style dining and more besides.

Norwegian cruise line's Freestyle Dining has been very popular and offers a minimum of 6 and up to 10 different restaurant choices (depending on the ship) with no need to make a reservation. Restaurants open from 5:30 pm to midnight so that you can choose from an early dinner before the show or a later romantic dinner for the two of you. You choose when, where and what to eat, from French Bistro, Steakhouses, Sushi, Spanish Tapas, Oriental or Italian style dining and more besides.

For a taste of the dinner selections you can expect in the main dining room, we have included the following sample menu from Celebrity Cruises world renowned cuisine:-
