Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines guests sailing on Black Watch from December this year can look forward to a vast range of enhancements as she is entering an extensive dry-dock period next month.
The multi-million pound refurbishment is scheduled for 20th November 2016 and will take 26 days at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany.
Upgrades will be made to many public spaces and dining venues plus there will be a key focus on updating cabins throughout the ship.

Olsen Cruise Lines Managing Director. “We will be undertaking major upgrades to the cabins and public areas throughout the ship, to ensure that we continue to provide the best facilities possible to meet our guests’ expectations”.
Lounge Deck 6 will receive a lot of attention with multiple venues being changed or updated during the November dry-dock. Braemar Garden Café will become new restaurant Brigadoon and provide an intimate dining experience for up to 54 guests. The Braemar Courtyard will become The Black Watch Room serving expertly prepared steaks for a new a la carte dining experience. A fresh Mediterranean themed dining venue will replace the existing Grill restaurant by the main pool area at Lounge Deck 6 aft. Plus the Black Watch Main Restaurant will receive a new look and feel with new fittings and furniture.
A full width sliding door is to be added to the Lido Lounge on Lido Deck 7, along with new fabrics and furniture. The Observatory Lounge will be refreshed and the Morning Light Pub will be relocated, creating new space for the Neptune Bar.
3D technology will be added to the Marina Cinema allowing for 3D films and programmes and enhancing onboard entertainment, whilst the Guest Services area will also be renewed to create an inviting and central hub for the ship.
More than 400 cabins will receive updates including refurbished bathrooms and a contemporary interactive TV system will be installed throughout the ship.
Black Watch will commence her cruising season post refurbishment with a seven night sailing to German and Danish Christmas markets from Tilbury on December 15th. Sail onboard an enhanced Black Watch from December 2016, and stay tuned for similar upgrades to be announced fleet wide in the coming years.
