10 reasons to sail on Harmony of the Seas' Maiden Season

09 May 2016 | by Nikki Osborne
Soon to set sail across Europe, Royal Caribbean's brand new ship, Harmony of the Seas, arrives in Southampton on the 17th May. Making its exciting debut in Southampton on the 22nd of May and Barcelona on the 7th June, you could be one of the lucky people to experience all the ship has to offer at the best time to cruise.

We've outlined some of the top benefits of cruising during an inaugural season.

1. The great atmosphere

When a new ship comes in to port for the first time, for some cities, this is often a special event. This means that many people come to see the ship, alongside some local celebrities and politicians. Several customers have told us about the great vibe on the deck & their balconies as they sail to shore, greeted by music and festivities.

2. Everything is brand new

There’s something about setting foot aboard a brand new ship that is just so much more satisfying. Maybe it’s the fresh décor, the feeling that everything is new and improved or simply the fresh innovations not seen on other ships such as the following…

3. The Ice Rink

Ever seen a show on ice? Watch world-class skaters perform unique routines alongside state-of-the art visuals in an overall awe-inspiring display. This is not to be missed.

4. The Aquatheatre

Exclusive to Royal Caribbean Oasis class ships – the Aquatheatre plays host to an impressive feat of acrobatic stunts and deep-diving acrobatics all from the top deck so you can sit and watch under the stars.

5. Puzzle Break: Escape the Rubicon

Very popular in many countries – you can now experience an escape game from the convenience of the ship. A great teambuilding activity for the entire family, race against the clock in an attempt to uncover the mystery of the puzzle.

6. The Slides

How are you with heights? Welcoming the ultimate abyss, the tallest slide at sea. If this isn’t enough – there’s also Typhoon, Cyclone & Supercell. Dare to plunge.

7. Musical debuts

Take the opportunity to see an all-time favourite movie, Grease, in musical format. Plus, amuse yourself in the tale of Christopher Columbus’ cousin, as he embarks on a crazy voyage to the Caribbean in another original at sea production, ‘Columbus’.

8. The Red Party

For those of you that want to let your hair down – the red party will be the biggest bash on the sea, with special effects, technology and incredible DJs; you’ll want to join in the fun time and time again.

9. Splashaway Bay

Join your kids & toddlers at Splashaway Bay where you can guarantee there won’t be any boredom tantrums. With a jungle gym, slides and water activities - there is plenty to keep children occupied.

10. Bragging rights

Finally, have you ever sailed on a brand new ship before? We know that everyone enjoys being the first to experience something great. Not only is the ship in tip top condition but you can be a part of the ships history and can brag about it all you like.
