Celebrity Cruises is an American run operator with Greek origins that provides a high quality cruising experience on modern spacious ships.
Celebrity Cruises was founded in 1989 by the Greece-based Chandris Group with the objective of fulfilling the travel industry's need for a high-quality, premium cruise product, at an intelligent price. The company was determined to set a new, worldwide standard for cruising and to create a distinctive expression of superior quality, grand style, attentive service, spacious accommodations and exceptional cuisine.
In 2004, Celebrity Cruises launched “Xpeditions," a series of highly unique events and excursions designed to offer the Celebrity Cruises experience, in new and exotic settings, including cruises in and around the enchanting Galapagos Islands on a luxurious mega yacht, Celebrity Xpedition and a series of premium excursion options on select itineraries.
Celebrity Cruises was acquired by Royal Caribbean International in 1997 and operates now as its sister cruise line.

The excellence of Celebrity's existing cruise product continues with the cruise line's four 5* Millennium-class ships, which embody even greater technical achievement and meaningful innovation, while retaining the distinctive style, sophistication and service elements that have become the hallmark of a Celebrity cruise.
Celebrity have not rested on their laurels - debuting on Millennium in 2002 they have introduced a fleet wide brand transformation program including, among other features: poolside massages, frosty towels and poolside fashion shows, elegant afternoon tea, enhanced adult enrichment programs, more interesting and tempting shops in its Emporium complex and welcome champagne on embarkation amongst other initiatives.
Beyond these onboard enhancements, Celebrity, with the launch in 2004 of its “Xpedition” sub-brand, is also moving into an intriguing new direction by aiming to offer more unusual cruise experiences. Combining style, service and luxury with more adventure-oriented destinations.
More recently they have focused on the Galapagos, where Celebrity has become the only big ship cruise line to offer year-round sailings by transforming a 2,329-ton 98-passenger vessel into Celebrity Xpedition. The company also has plans to expand the concept to include cruises to Antarctica and the Arctic.
