Royal Caribbean cruises feature many cruise industry innovative firsts with lots of activities and entertainment to suit families, couples and singles.

Based in Miami, Royal Caribbean was formed in 1969 and currently operates a global fleet of ships offering cruises to over 130 destinations worldwide. These include some of the largest and most innovative ships in the world. The 138,000-ton Voyager family of ships that includes Navigator of the Seas, offering many industry firsts including a rock climbing 200ft above the ocean, an ice skating ring, in-line skating, a promenade shopping mall and much more. Navigator of the Seas cruises out of Southampton during 2007.

Royal Caribbean once again lays claim to owning the world’s largest cruise ship, with the launch the 158,000-ton Freedom of the Seas in 2006, again taking ship design to a new level. Freedom will be joined by Liberty of the Seas in 2007 and both will cruise out of Miami. In 2008, Independence of the Seas, another Freedom class ship will join the fleet and Royal Caribbean has stated that Independence of the Seas is due to sail out of Southampton during its inaugural cruise season.

Royal Caribbean’s continual investment in “cruise industry firsts” and cutting edge design features has arguably created the largest, youngest and most exciting fleet in the world. The bigger ships have almost become destinations in themselves.
