Adding an extra dimmension to the imaginative itineraries are the guest speakers we are always delighted to have on board.
Each of our Guest Speakers has a talent for bringing their subject to life. They will help you understand the bigger picture, setting historical events in context – while sailing past Gallipoli, for example. Or they will explain in detail why things are the way they are – be it a curious plant in the Scilly Isles or an item of ceremonial dress in Zululand.
A cruise aboard Minerva can be an education in all sorts of ways. While at sea you can choose to join informal workshops, extending your talents and ambitions in any number of directions. Depending on your cruise, you might try your hand at painting, photography or bridge; join a writing or singing workshop or learn what to look for when tasting wine.
Evenings on board might start with its piano and oak panelling. After dinner, you might relax in the Darwin Lounge. It provides the perfect venue for a classical trio, occasionally a folklore show by a local troupe, or an entertaining talk. In many ways, it is the heart of Minerva, a space and an ambience that perfectly captures our signature Country House style.
