I rang Planet and spoke with John who booked our cruise, or at least took the details and a deposit. He was unable to produce a full booking and send the confirmed booking to us as they do not have an interacting system with the cruise line. I am used to booking with US operators and the experience is far smoother. Some 5 days have elapsed and I have no confirmation that I have the cruise I booked simply an email created by John. I am still expected to pay the full amount despite not having any 'official' documentation (email is sufficient).
Added to which I made the booking but the 'lead' person on the email from John lists my wife, who has never spoken with John. I ask questions via email to which I want confirmation but get such confirmation via a telephone conversation left on voice-mail!
Basically the systems operated by this company are somewhat less than we expect simply having dealt with US travel agencies, also charging 2.5% to accept a credit card is somewhat antiquated and not being able to reach the company on its published telephone number is somewhat disturbing.
Please understand that my criticisms are focused on the company and not on the sales person as it is not the fault of the sales person for the systems being used to book cruises.

8 days after taking money for a cruise have still heard nothing from them even though I had been told I would have paper work within days of the order.
Late paperwork was one of the main topics on trip advisor about planet cruise, it seems they have not taken notice of the complaints.

We normally book through Iglu but understand you are all under the same umbrella now and the cruise appeared to be only on your site when we received the e mail
We have never travelled with MSC cruises before and only hope it is okay as last year our friends that we normally travel with in a party of six - also cruised with you for the first time and there cruise was a back to back cruise and the first week was brilliant they told me but the second week was so terrible words couldn't describe it!
Evidently the whole of the ship was booked out to Vegans and an Holistic group and there was no true food available for the ordinary passengers they got off the boat and had to come back because everything was closed and it took them two hours to get back on - they were so unlucky as a car that they hired was broken into and items were stolen it was sadly a nightmare for them. So much so that when I asked them to come on this cruise with us and discovering it was with MSC
they wouldn't come as evidently they are still trying to claim for at least the weeks holiday that they lost out of the two weeks! I believe that between the four passengers that travelled together you have only offered about £300 or so between them and that to be taken off a cruise in the year 2016 - all they really wanted is a refund for the half of the price of the cruise because the second week was ruined! we always cruise together as a party of six and this is so sad because we didn't know that it was with MSC cruise line. I believe they are dealing with them directly so don't know what they can do about it if they could have received the half of the cost of the cruise they could possibly have put it towards this holiday to Rio with us. The lead passengers on the booking were Mr David and Mrs Jeanette Joseph. Anyway we hope that our trip is going to be okay as your representative assured us that the ship is not booked out to any large group at all. I also asked at the time to upgrade our BA flight using our Avios miles and I did ask as you are supposed to do that when you book through a travel agent - but no one has got back to me with that confirmation.
I expect I will receive the confirmation in about five days time and that will enable us to sign in and book excursions etcetera because unable to do that at the moment without the booking number
Overall we were pleased with your help on the telephone and it was nice that the young lady in charge of the Tailor Made holidays requested a sea view room for us at the Rio Othon Palace Hotel

John looked after us very well. The deal was very good. We added on 2 nights in New York and because the cruise price was so good it looked a bit expensive. However having checked the price of hotels for ourselves the price given was OK.
