Mexico's Gold Coast stretches for thousands of miles along the Pacific offering world-class beaches, vibrant culture and lush green rain forests…

Cruising out of and returning to Los Angeles, San Diego or San Franscisco, Mexican Riviera cruises are all about relaxation, beaches and watersports and this region is a great alternative to the Caribbean. Cruises call at Ensenada, just below the Mexican border, the more sophisticated Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan for the shopping, the beaches of Zihuatenejo and the resort of Puerto Vallarta. A highlight of this region is the cosmopolitan Acapulco, famous for beaches and cliff divers.

The Mexican Riviera is truly a year-round destination with temperatures remaining warm for most of the year.

Mexico stretches from its northwestern border with California to its southern border with Guatemala. Most of this coast was populated with tiny fishing villages until the 1920s, when a new road system brought tourism to this area. Soon, luxury hotels appeared in Acapulco, followed by Puerto Vallarta, which gained international fame in the 1960s, when Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor filmed "Night of the Iguana" and bought a seaside villa there.
