Cruise and Maritime Voyages first launched the Discovery as recently as 2013, with this fantastic vessel being used primarily for special interest destinations such as the Land of the Midnight Sun and other wonderful locations around the world. As such, your time aboard the ship really will feel like an adventurous journey of discovery, and this is reflected in many of the vessel's design elements.

For instance, unlike many other cruise liners, the Discovery is an intimate ship with a capacity for just 700 passengers. Because of this, your voyage with us will feel much more like an exciting expedition than a standard cruise holiday, yet that's not to say you won't have all the luxuries that these types of trips are typically associated with.

Indeed, you'll have the best of both worlds, with all the exhilaration of heading off to one of the earth's most adventurous locations while also enjoying a pampered lifestyle. All of Discovery's cabins, for instance, are spacious and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms and a range of other facilities. There are 16 categories of accommodation onboard, so you'll have the chance to tailor your trip to suit your needs.

The Deluxe Suite Ocean View and Owners Suite Ocean View cabins, for instance, offer the ultimate in luxury cruise accommodation, and provide incredible views of the scenery outside the ship.

In the past, explorers heading to some of the places that the Discovery regularly visits would have had to make do with meagre scraps of nourishment, yet passengers onboard this vessel can attain all the excitement experienced by these intrepid explorers while also enjoying some top-rate food. Dinner, lunch and breakfast are served in the stylish Seven Continents restaurant, although those who prefer to dine al fresco will be able to do so on the Sun Deck. If you're feeling a little lazy then it's even possible to treat yourself to breakfast in bed too.

The Hideaway Bar is a great place to while away an evening, with both the drinks and the atmosphere in this friendly and relaxed venue being first-rate. There are also snacks on offer throughout the day, so you'll be able to indulge all your cravings, no matter what time it is.

The onboard spa and fitness centre covers two decks and is complete with outdoor Jacuzzis, treatments rooms for facials and massages, saunas and a fully-equipped gym. If you'd rather get creative, then you'll have the option to take part in daily arts and crafts workshops, with everything from calligraphy to jewellery making on offer.

Evenings onboard the Discovery are never dull, with the nightly 'big show' taking place in the Show Lounge. Among the regular productions are themed events such as 'Remember the 60s' and 'Abba Party', while guest speakers are also regularly booked to give talks as part of the 'An Evening With...' series.
