Princess Cruises rolls out more giant screens

Princess Cruises will add large poolside screens to most of its ships by 2011.

Bars & Lounges

Bars are designed for every mood and every occasion, whether relaxing by the pool on the sun deck or in the solarium during the day with your favourite cocktail. Meet friends for a pre-dinner glass of bubbly, or take in the latest game in the sports bar. After dinner, relax and take in the soothing sounds of the piano playing, or dance the night away in the disco to the early hours. With so many venues, the choice is yours.

Some guests want to sit back and be entertained whilst sipping an early evening cocktail while others want to join in on the action in a relaxed party atmosphere.

Two things that night owls will find most reassuring is the fact that the bars remain open and buzzing all night long.

On the modern cruise ships there’s a great choice of bars and lounges designed to set the mood and for having fun, from Champagne & Caviar to Sports bars and Cigar lounges. Believe or not you can even find an English pub onboard serving Guinness in the Caribbean!

Whether you want to just sink into a comfy sofa and listen to the sounds of a grand piano or dance until the wee small hours in the nightclub, the nights are always young onboard a cruise ship.

Alcoholic Beverages & Named Soft Drinks
Alcoholic beverages are not included in your cruise price, and since soft drinks are served over the bar there is a charge for these as well. Almost always speciality coffees are also charged at additional cost.

All beverage purchases are signed to your shipboard account and the service charge (typically 15%) is automatically added. Prices are usually about the same as they are at bars at home and a lot less than you'd find at most hotels and resorts.

Some cruise lines offer a soda package, which is great news for families with children and saves you going to the bar all the time!
