Insignia is one of Oceania's slightly smaller cruise liners, with room for 684 passengers. As such, it retains a much cosier feel than some of the larger vessels, making it the perfect choice for travellers who are looking for a bit of R&R.
This is something which is enhanced by the ship's casual and comfortable decor, with mahogany wood panelling and Oriental-style carpets creating something of a country club environment. The cabins, meanwhile, represent the pinnacle in luxury accommodation, with all rooms featuring Prestige Tranquility Beds, as well as down duvet and blankets made from Egyptian cotton. You certainly won't have any sleepless nights when you're onboard this particular vessel.
What's more, roughly two-thirds of cabins come with their own balcony, so you'll be able to enjoy stunning sea views. If you're looking for something more extravagant, however, then you may want to check into a penthouse suite, which features a separate living room, wrap-around balcony and 42-inch plasma TV.
It's also worth noting that, while facilities like the games room are sure to keep passengers of all ages entertained, there are no specific activities for children, so whilst some other ships may offer things like kids clubs, Insignia is perhaps more suitable for adults. It's therefore perfect for passengers who are after some rest and relaxation.
As well as the stylish Grand Dining Room, Insignia offers a range of casual eateries, each serving up something a little different, so you can be sure that all tastes are well catered for onboard the ship. The Waves Grill, for instance, is located on the Pool Deck, while Toscana is the place to be for top-class Italian dishes.
Tapas on the Terrace, meanwhile, is a buffet-style Spanish restaurant during the day, with an a la carte menu in the evenings.
Insignia also boasts several bars, with Martinis being the most stylish of these, featuring a resident piano player and an extensive list of cocktails.
The main show lounge is located on Deck Five, and can accommodate around half of the ship's guests for each performance. The programme of events held here is extensive, with everything from live music, comedy, cabaret and theatre to ensure that no one gets bored during their time on Insignia.
Elsewhere, the onboard spa is run by the renowned american firm, Canyon Ranch, and features a thalassotherapy whirlpool whilst also offering a range of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments. Other highlights include the onboard casino and library, while yoga and Pilates classes are available in the fitness centre.
