Acquired from Costa Crociere and renamed after the famous Portuguese explorer, Magellan has been announced as the new flagship for traditional British cruise line Cruise and Maritime
. Maintaining Cruise and Maritime's excellent style and sophistication, Magellan will operate as an adult only ship (16 years plus) alongside Marco Polo. Astor and Azores. Maximum passenger capacity increases to 1250 yet the on-board atmosphere remains to be intimate and inviting.

Guests can relax and unwind in the Jade Wellness and Beauty Centre or any one of three jacuzzis. The maiden voyage has been announced as a twelve night cruise to Iceland and the Faroes to witness the fantastic Solar Eclipse and Northern Lights in the summer of 2015. Journey's placed next on the agenda include visits to Norway’s Fjordland, the North Cape and Land of the Midnight Sun, Scandinavian Cities, British Isles, Baltic Cities, St Petersburg and the Canary Islands. Tropical and exotic destinations including the Amazon and West Indies are lined up for winter 2016.
