Named after one of the most legendary explorers ever to have lived, the Cruise and Maritime Marco Polo carries the spirit of adventure on every deck, while at the same time offering the very highest standards of comfort, quality and entertainment. As such, it's the perfect vessel for those who want to indulge their intrepid spirit by taking to the seas on an exciting voyage, without having to sacrifice any of the services and facilities they'd expect from a luxury cruise liner.

From the Columbus Lounge to the Amundsen Deck, every element of this amazing ship has been designed to mirror the ethos of history's great navigators and adventurers, so from the moment you board you'll instantly be able to get into the spirit of things. Embarking on a voyage in these surroundings is a truly exhilarating experience, and throughout your time onboard you'll find that this sense of adventure only grows stronger.

Unlike the iconic characters after whom different areas of the ship are named, you'll be able to enjoy your journey in the very finest cabins of any seafaring vessel. With 15 categories of cabin to choose from, you can tailor your holiday to suit your budget and other needs, and will find that even the most basic rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. For something a little bit special, though, you may want to consider booking a Deluxe Ocean View Suite, which has its own walk-in wardrobe and separate living room.

For a formal dining experience, the Waldorf Restaurant really is the finest venue at sea, with five-course meals and high-class atmosphere. Of course, those who would rather dine in more relaxed surroundings will be able to do so at one of the ship's other eateries, such as the laidback Marco's Restaurant, which offers a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There are several bars onboard the Marco Polo, each with its own distinct personality. The Captain's Club, for instance, is a wonderful place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while the resident pianist helps to set the tone. Elsewhere, the Columbus Lounge is the place to be if you fancy sipping on a cocktail or two.

With an onboard spa and wellness centre, outdoor swimming pool and three Jacuzzis, the ship provides plenty of opportunities for leisure. There's also a shopping arcade and a fitness centre, although the real action begins after nightfall.

Venues such as Marco Polo Lounge come to life with musical shows and a range of other performances. If you fancy a chuckle, be sure to check out A Laugh on the Ocean Waves, which has featured a number of famous comedians in the past. Alternatively, head to the Scott's Bar, where you'll be able to dance the night away.
