Cruising in Monaco

If it's glitz and glamour you're after then there are few - if any - cities in the world that can compete with Monaco. Aside from boasting some of the most stunning and historically significant sites in Europe, it's also a playground for the rich and famous, with many of the world's most expensive yachts berthed at the city's marina all year round.

A great place to start your tour of the city is at the famous Saint Nicholas Cathedral, where Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III were married in 1956, and where both are now buried. Elsewhere, the Monte Carlo Casino is one of the most glamorous establishments of its kind anywhere in the world, and is regularly frequented by some very famous names. It even provided the inspiration for Ian Fleming's 007 novel Casino Royale, so if you want to feel like James Bond then this is the place to come.

Other sites that should not be missed include the likes of Monaco-Ville - the old quarter of the city, which has maintained much of its medieval charm - and the Prince's Palace, which, conveniently, is located in Monaco-Ville itself.
