The ms Oosterdam (pronounced OH-ster-dam) is the very definition of modern cruising, with light airy spaces, fabulous panorama viewing decks and a variety of different entertainment options designed to give guests a truly rounded experience. As the second of the grand vista ships in the Holland America Line fleet, guests are absolutely guaranteed a highly luxurious cruise when travelling to destinations such as Alaska, Australia and New Zealand.

Ms Oosterdam provides both private and social experiences, with a higher number of staterooms offering the opportunity for private dining on secluded verandas or the on board shopping centre allowing guests to mingle and make new friends whilst making duty free purchases. The Greenhouse spa and salon on board the ms Oosterdam is the largest and most luxurious in the Holland America Line fleet, meaning that those in need of some serious pampering during their break have more options than ever before to indulge in a treatment or two.

For guests travelling with children or teenagers, never fear, as there is more than enough for them to do without interrupting a trip to the spa! Club Hal offers an excellent kids club service with separate areas for different age groups – teenagers can even take advantage of their own private sundeck with a waterfall! The kids club also operates an After Hours service from 10pm to midnight, meaning older children can meet and mingle under the stars while parents take full advantage of the wealth of entertainment options available on board.

As with everything on ms Oosterdam, there is such a huge variety of dining options available that guests will be quite literally spoilt for choice. Whether a five course meal or more casual light bite is desired, there are facilities on board to cater for any taste experience. On top of the private dining options in stateroom verandas, guests can head to the Main Dining Room; several times during the course of each cruise a formal dress-up dinner is held, so make sure to bring cocktail dresses and dinner jackets!

The Lido Restaurant offers a slightly more laid back and light option, and lovers of steak should make a beeline for the Pinnacle Grill which provides a variety of dishes cooked to the guest’s liking. There is also a Culinary Arts Centre on board which, along with cooking and serving delicious meals, allows guests to observe the excellent chefs aboard the ms Oosterdam prepare a number of gourmet dishes. They can even have a go themselves during an intimate cooking class.

One thing is for sure – guests travelling on the ms Oosterdam will never have a dull moment, as there is so much to see and do even when not at port! Along with the spa and salon, the ms Oosterdam boasts two large pools, a steam room and aromatic room and even a hydrotherapy pool to ensure that guests have the most relaxing experience possible. Those seeking to improve their fitness levels can head to the lifestyle and fitness centre, or alternatively play a round of tennis, basketball or volleyball on one of the game courts.

At night, dazzling Las Vegas style shows, vocalists, illusionists and comedians take to the stage to entertain adoring audiences. Other guests may prefer the casino or piano bar, while those wishing to dance the night away can head to the Crow’s Nest nightclub.
