MS Roald Amundsen features innovative hybrid technology designed by Rolls Royce and offers a silent and emission free cruising experience. Conscious of the regions in which it cruises, Hurtigruten partnered with Rolls Royce on the sustainable design of MS Roald Amundsen, to construct one of the first ships to sail with hybrid propulsion.
The cutting edge design allows for maximum enjoyment of the stunning and natural scenery of the destinations being visited, with minimal effect on the environment. Designed with the ability to sail voyages in polar waters, MS Roald Amundsen offers a fantastic and varied range of expedition cruises.
Life onboard is enhanced by the presence of an experienced and professional Expedition Team. The approachable team provide expert advice and lectures covering science and history related to the environment and regions being explored.
Relaxation pre or post shore excursion can be enjoyed in many ways onboard MS Roald Amundsen. Guests can take in the stunning views made accessible by the Panoramic Lounge, an optimal viewing point onboard, read in the ship’s library or unwind with a splendid sauna or Jacuzzi.
Accommodation onboard is comfortable and all outside cabins and suites come with a TV as standard. Some outside cabins come with tea and coffee making facilities and Expedition Suites feature a seating area, bathrobes and more for that extra bit of luxury.
