The MSC Orchestra is one of the MSC line’s Musica class of ships, built and launched in 2007 with a wide range of modern amenities. At 964 feet long, she has 1,275 cabins that can accommodate up to 2,500 passengers, with a crew of around 1,000 people. The MSC Orchestra cruises an exciting range of locations, with short itineraries that include the United Arab Emirates and Oman, or Venice, Greece, and Turkey, and longer cruises of over a month, that visit Dubai, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Bali, and Australia. All of MSC’s Musica-class ships are absolutely stunning, and the Orchestra is no exception, from the opulent, airy grandeur of the three-story reception area, to the smallest and most intimate bars and lounges. The sun-drenched outdoor pool areas, the exciting glamour of the theatre and casino, the elegant and comfortable cigar room, and the glitzy disco and night clubs, the quiet tranquility of the spa, all have their own beautifully designed décor and atmosphere.
On board the Orchestra you can choose from five different berthing options. There are interior cabins, and window cabins for those who want an ocean view, and balcony cabins that provide a snug, private area that’s always ready and waiting just for you. For people with disabilities, the same range of cabins is available, designed with additional space and more accessible floor plans. People who want to cruise with an extra touch of luxury can choose from two suite options, and can also access some optional extra perks, including priority seating for meals, access to an exclusive sundeck, and a complimentary spa package that includes a free massage.
The MSC Orchestra has a solid range of dining options, including both buffet-style menus, and casual and formal dining choices. For breakfast and lunch buffets, each available for several hours, check out Cafeteria La Piazzetta, which offers a wide range of dishes. There are several other casual dining options, including the Cafeteria’s pizzeria and kebabs, and a range of aperitifs at the ship’s 16 bars and lounges, each of which has its own unique food and drink menu. Room service is available 24 hours a day, giving you the opportunity to relax with a snack or light meal in the comfort of your own cabin or suite.
The ship’s two main dining rooms, Villa Borghese and L’Ibiscus, serve morning, midday, and evening meals, including varied dinner menu and good-sized wine list. There are also two specialty restaurants on board—the gorgeous Shanghai Chinese Restaurant, and the 4 Seasons Restaurant, each offering fabulous gourmet cuisine in a stylish and intimate setting.
The Orchestra provides its passengers with virtually non-stop excitement, with a huge selection of amenities, activities, and entertainment venues. Keep up with your regular exercise routine easily, at the ship’s excellent gym and outdoor jogging track, or check out the tennis court and golf simulator; and of course, the old favourite, shuffleboard, is here too. If relaxing is more your style, head to the Body & Mind Spa for a massage or beauty treatment, try out the Jacuzzi, or experience the Turkish bath, the ultimate in relaxation.
At night, the ship is alive with lights and action, from the Covent Garden Theatre to the Palm Beach Casino and the busy bars, lounges, and nightclubs. The theatre has two shows a night, with cabaret, music, and magic, and most bars have music, and room to dance.
