Cruising to Palma, Majorca

The only real city on the popular Balearic island of Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca offers something for everyone. Naturally, most people visit this Mediterranean isle in search of sunshine and beaches, and Palma certainly won't disappoint on that front, although unlike most of the other popular resorts along the coastline, the city is also blessed with a rich cultural heritage.

If all you want to do while you're in town is relax on the sand and enjoy a cocktail or two then you'll find some really stunning beaches just outside the city itself, with Cala Major and Ciudad Jardin being the two most popular in the area immediately surrounding Palma de Mallorca. Staying within the city, meanwhile, you'll find loads of charming bars and restaurants along the Paseo Maritimo, which runs along the waterfront by the harbour.

Alternatively, you could choose to be a little more active and explore some of the city's historic gems, such as the beautiful Cathedral of Mallorca, the atmospheric Arab Baths or the charming Castell de Bellver. There are also some world-class art galleries to be found here, with the Contemporary Spanish Art Museum housing works by the likes of Picasso, Miro, Dali and several other renowned artists of the 20th century.
