Prague Cruises

Cruising to Prague, Czech Republic

It's perfectly natural to feel as though your breath has been completely stolen away upon landing in Prague. Don't panic. It will slowly return as you wander this wondrous city. With every turn and twist, the metropolis - which looks in places like a magical kingdom - slowly reveals its secrets.
The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague boasts plenty of notable reasons to visit, with its stunning architecture among them. Simply prowling the streets is an immensely fun experience, with landmarks such as the Tyn Church, Prague Castle and Charles Bridge making for a stunning cityscape.
Make a start by exploring the Old Town, where many of these architectural works of art can be found. The streets around the central square are lined with gift shops aimed at tourists, but you can get a more authentic feel for the place the deeper you go. Gargoyles glare accusingly down their noses at you, while you walk from the banks of the river Vltava to the spire of St James Church.
After you've completed your preliminary explorations and moved onto the more in-depth experiences, you can make the most of your time by exploring the vibrant arts and culture scene. The Museum of Decorative Arts, Czech National Museum, Czech National Gallery and the National Technical Museum all make for great visits, particularly on rainy afternoons.
Prague's inhabitants love a party as much as the next bunch, and there are plenty of festivals, extravaganzas, celebrations and theatrical events throughout the year. Prague Spring, the most famous classical music festival in the country, is particularly worth experiencing, as is the Heart of Europe celebration. And if you're here for Christmas, count yourself extremely lucky, as the streets are full of Christmas cheer and authentic Eastern Europe markets.
The reality is, though, that Prague makes for a fascinating river cruise stop-off no matter what time of year it is.
