Following your overnight flight from the UK, your far eastern adventure begins with two luxurious nights in a 5* hotel in atmospheric Bangkok. This "City of Angels" is a bustling place with a maze of extensive waterways and floating markets. In between the office towers and royal palaces are beautiful gardens and boulevards. Bangkok is a city with more than 400 Buddhist temples and the most famous of these is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, containing a statue carved from a single piece of jade. We have included a visit to the scenic province of Kanchanaburi, revealing its role in the history of the Pacific War. You will then embark the Diamond Princess for an amazing 16 night cruise throughout the exotic orient. Ports of call throughout South Korea, Japan, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Vietnam follow on your way to Beijing, where you will spend 6 nights in superior hotels immersed in the mesmerising culture of China. You will visit some fascinating historical sites, including the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall of China and the world famous Terracotta Warriors museum. Delicious fresh, authentic Chinese cuisine and luxurious accommodation in a four star Beijing hotel is included in this truly is a once in a lifetime adventure.

Bridge Over The River Kwai Included Tour

Kanchanaburi Province, one of the largest and hottest of all Thai provinces, lying to the west of Bangkok and adjacent to Myanmar separated mostly by a mountainous border broken by the Three Pagodas Pass. Kanchanaburi sits on the banks of the Kwae Yai and Kwae Noi rivers, surrounded by limestone outcrops and fields of sugar cane. One less pleasant aspect of its history was the prisoner of war camp during the Second World War, when this area was the site of a railway line intended to stretch throughout British Burma to India. Visit the Jeath war museum, which is housed in the same sort of huts the POW's used and is filled with exhibits telling their story. Visit the War Cemetery as well as the Bridge on the River Kwai, restored after the war and still carries the railway today. Take a ride along a pleasant section of the unpleasantly named Death Railway.
