 Scenic Crystal

Scenic Crystal was one of the original Space-Ships built by Australian-owned Scenic in 2012. Named a Space-Ship because of her generously-sized cabins and public areas, Scenic Crystal sails the Rhine, Main and Danube along with her sisters Scenic Jewel and Scenic Jade.
The modern and luxurious feel of Scenic Crystal, and her great service that includes a butler for every cabin, mean that the atmosphere onboard is elegant and upmarket. Her maximum capacity is 169 passengers, making for an intimate ambience. Gratuities, shore excursions, meals, drinks and airport transfers are all part of the all-inclusive package.

Due to its antipodean roots, Scenic Crystal attracts a lot of Australians. She’s also popular with well-travelled British guests and Americans, Canadians and Germans are increasingly attracted by her fabulous itineraries matched by her spacious luxury and fantastic facilities.

Dining options on Scenic Crystal are unrivalled in the river cruise industry, with six restaurants onboard.
The main restaurant serves up stunning views alongside breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mouth-watering buffets and a la carte menus are offered. Dinner is a four course affair and all but the most expensive champagnes and premium spirits are included. The restaurant is stylish with its high quality table linen, china and glassware, but the open-seating policy at tables seating two to eight means there’s no need to book or stick to the same table. Cuisine is varied and locally inspired, and includes special events such as a Seafood Gala evening.
Passengers celebrating a special occasion should book Italian fine dining restaurant Portobellos. Seating just 32 and boasting fantastic views at the front of the ship, this is the ultimate destination for a romantic evening.
The River Café is open from early in the morning until late at night, offering both full-service and buffet style food with a gelato bar and a great choice of healthy snacks and indulgent treats. It’s a great place to relax over a coffee with friends or a newspaper at any time of day.
Guests staying on the Diamond Deck will be invited by the executive chef to attend a very special six course degustation menu, paired with fine wines, served to only ten guests at a time at Table La Rive.
High tea is served on the Terrace daily and itineraries can also feature a Teppanyaki BBQ event on the Sun Deck.
Passengers can also choose from the room service menu to enjoy a meal in the privacy of their stateroom and picnic hampers are available for shore excursions
Drinks, including wines and beers as well as coffee and soft drinks, are available all day, with your cabin’s mini bar being replenished daily.

Most Scenic passengers are happy to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink on the Sun Deck or the ship’s social hub, the Panorama Lounge, with its incredible views and regular live music. Thanks to Crystal’s innovative design, the Riverview Terrace at the front of the Sun Deck can be lowered so passengers can enjoy it even when passing under low bridges. The Scenic Tailormade GPS allows passengers to listen to an entertaining and informative commentary of the scenery they are passing through at the touch of a button.
The Captain’s Dinner, gala dinner events and fine dining experiences form the highlights of Crystal’s evening entertainment. The evening dress code is resort casual with many passengers dressing up more for the Captain’s dinner and everyone saving their dressier outfits for meals in Portobellos and Table La Rive.

Crystal’s Enrich programme includes a daily briefing on the next day’s shore excursion from the Cruise Director and a wide variety of experiences designed to immerse you in the culture of the itinerary. When visiting Austria, this could include an authentic Austrian lunch followed by a sing-a-long at the Best of Sound of Music and Salzburg show.
Your Scenic Tailormade GPS system personalises your sightseeing experience. If something interests you, all you have to do is press a button to hear a commentary. This means that on shore excursions, you can join in with a group tour or set off on your own, safe in the knowledge that the relevant information is at your fingertips. Nordic walking sticks and electric bicycles are also available for dry land adventures.
Scenic Freechoice offers three options for group sightseeing – active for those who want to go more in-depth, moderate for comprehensive walking tours and relaxed for slower-paced wanders.
Wi-Fi is available onboard for staying in touch with home and there’s a gift shop for souvenirs.

All but 13 of the 85 staterooms have floor to ceiling windows that can be transformed into a ‘Scenic Sun Lounge’ at the touch of a button, from which you can enjoy the view and the fresh air. A pillow menu, Egyptian cotton sheets, a nightly turn down service, bathrobes, premium L’Occitane bath products and queen size beds come as standard in all staterooms. A book case, bedside tables, desk and flat screen TV (with keyboard to use the free Wi-Fi) are also available to all guests.
The feeling of pampering and opulence is enriched by 24-hour room service, daily replenishment of the mini bar and butler service all being part of the package. Guests in the six most expensive suites can also enjoy full dining in the privacy of their suite.
On the Diamond and Sapphire Decks the 325 sq. ft. Royal Panorama Suites and 315 sq.ft. Royal Suites are among the largest in river cruising. There are also 250 sq. ft. Junior Suites and Balcony Suites to choose from. Standard Suites with picture windows can be found on the Jewel Deck.

Crystal has a Wellness centre with hair salon and massage room. There’s also a well-equipped gym and a walking track on the Sun Deck. The ship also has an elevator to aid tired legs.

Scenic Crystal is to be found cruising itineraries on the Rhine, Main and Danube, with options to extend your stay on dry land at the start and end of the cruise.
