Imagine what it would be like if there was luxurious and spacious hotel on the seas. Well, that's essentially what the Silver Wind is. With its quiet suites and promenade decks, this is one of the few vessels in the world that can really call itself a five-star.

Being one of the oldest luxury vessels in the world, the Silver Wind is anything but dated. Having recently been re-fit, it is now one of the cosiest ships on the world's waters, probably because it won't take you long to become acquainted with the vessel.

Do note that this cruise is not for you if you want huge casinos, pool games and snazzy activities - this is more for those wanting a relaxing and quiet break away without the hustle and the bustle. Plus the all-inclusive drinks do no harm either.

That is not to say that the facilities are limited. With a choice of designer boutiques, chess tables, matinee movies, wine tasting sessions and observation decks galore, you are sure to fill your time easily if you are starting to feel a bit fidgety. The health spa and gym also boasts a jogging track, pilates classes, and swimming pools for the active bunch, and hot lava rock massages, Javanese honey steam wrap and vital aromatic facials for those looking to take it easy.

This cruise takes all things mediterranean and then ups it to a whole other level. Italians are of course known for filling up their tables, and this is no different, with tantalising dishes, fresh ingredients and diverse menus.

Each dish is paired with its own wine, and if you want to continue into the night, have some cocktails by the pool or champagne by the nightclub bar. What more could you ask for?

The Silver Wind will have something to keep all ages and tastes amused. The bar has live music on, a dance floor and a wide array of cocktails, while feature films will be shown in the open air by the pool during evenings. The Panorama Lounge, meanwhile, has some of the best DJs hitting the decks well into the morning hours.

And if you like your evenings a bit more refined, head to the Champagne Room, where you can sip on some cognac, port or armagnac, while tucking into a selection of cigars - bliss.
