Thomson Celebration

What do you get when you combine spacious accommodation, tantalising cuisine and varied entertainment options? The Thomson Celebration, of course. Perfect for families looking to get away from it all, the vessel may not specialise in a particular facet of the cruise experience but it offers an all-round package that's hard to beat.

This vessel was originally launched in 1984, making it a proper dame of a ship. With its promenade deck and opulent lines, you may feel like you have been transported back onto the Titanic - a traditional experience that many modern vessels fail to emulate.

More recently, the ship was upgraded to Platinum status, acknowledging it as one of the more fancier models in the Thomson fleet. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that all cabins have new furnishings, and flat-screen TVs, while suites even have iPod docks.

The vessel offers a multitude of dining experiences.

The main dining room is the Meridian Restaurant, which offers weekly buffets, while the Lido Restaurant offers self-service buffets and is more casual.

For more sophisticated Italian dishes, go to TV chef Aldo Zilli's Signature Restaurant. On top of all of that, room service is also available 24 hours a day if you get a tad peckish at any time.

To say there is a wide variety of entertainment onboard would be an understatement.

After dinner, head to the Broadway Show Lounge, perfect for those looking for a West End-style show, while the Liberties Bar hosts regular live jazz and classical performances.

If you fancy your chances, Hemingway's Bar & Casino has the games tables and the drinks flowing, and the onboard cinema features both recent blockbusters and old classics.

For those wanting to truly relax, Oceans Health Club offers anything from Dead Sea mud masks and mineral wraps to hair styling.

Those wanting to be a bit more active should head to The Sports deck for a quick game of tennis, basketball or badminton, while the fitness centre is properly equipped for cardio training. After all that, leave your worries behind you in the male and female saunas.
