Travelmarvel Jewel

Travelmarvel Jewel

Built in 2007 and renamed to reflect Travelmarvel’s ownership in 2014, the Jewel is one of three sister ships that cruise along the majestic European rivers. It’s almost identical in terms of size, décor and style to its twin sister, the Travelmarvel Diamond. While the newer Travelmarvel Sapphire differs slightly, the three sisters exude luxury and comfort on every deck. With a state-of-the-art Silent Drive System (SDS) that reduces noise and vibration by separating the propulsion compartments from the passenger areas, passengers can enjoy a comfortable and relaxing river cruise experience.

As an Australian company, the majority of passengers tend to be from Australia and New Zealand, but the English-speaking crew and staff appeals to well-travelled river cruisers who enjoy premier cruising and have a keen eye for history. The Jewel’s maximum capacity is 170 passengers, and with 43 crew members onboard, guests can enjoy a high passenger to staff ratio of less than 4 to 1, including a Cruise Director who can help to make your trip an unforgettable one.
Passengers benefit from an all-inclusive river cruise experience, with very few extra expenses once you’re on board. All meals, drinks (during meal times), entertainment, return flights to the UK, port charges and gratuities are included in the price – all you need to do is sit back and relax, and leave your wallet in the room safe!

Passengers will find the main lounge and bar on the ship’s Rhine Deck, while the dining room, where most meals are served, can be found on the Danube Deck. Guests can enjoy fine dining every evening, with four-course menus featuring regional cuisine on offer, carefully and expertly prepared by the onboard chefs. A variety of breakfast options are available, from a hearty Full English to a selection of continental delights. There is also a late evening supper for anyone feeling peckish later on.
Wine, local beer and soft drinks are included with lunch and dinner, and hot beverages and bottled water are available free of charge, throughout the day.

Entertainment aboard the Jewel tends to be a little low-key, with most passengers retiring to the main lounge and bar for after-dinner drinks and dancing. Passengers can enjoy the sound of music in the main lounge, where accomplished musicians can be found performing some classic European tunes. When in some ports, local performers will step aboard for a revue that reflects the music, culture and tradition of the local region.

Choose to relax in the stylish lounge and bar area, or enjoy some of the phenomenal views that the Sun Deck has to offer, by sitting back on one of the loungers and watching the ever-changing landscape pass you by.
Travelmarvel also offers guests Insider Experiences, which allow them to appreciate the local culture and customs with the help of exclusive excursions that can range from private tours to cooking demonstrations. Small Group Shore Excursions with an expert guide are also on offer. Guests can also enjoy complimentary access to bikes, which can be used to explore ports independently.
There is Wi-Fi onboard, which can be invaluable for travellers wishing to chat with loved ones at home - with access to onboard computers if you don’t have your own laptop or tablet with you.

The Travelmarvel Jewel offers a total of four suites and 81 staterooms, which vary in size, facilities and cost. Choose from Window Staterooms (Moselle Deck, 172 sq. ft., with en-suite, two portholes, queen-size bed), French Balcony Staterooms (Danube and Rhine Decks, 172 sq. ft., same layout and amenities as window staterooms, with an additional floor to ceiling French balcony) and Owners Suites (Rhine Deck, 258 sq. ft., floor to ceiling windows, a full-size bathroom and an all-weather French balcony) which are distributed across three passenger decks.
All feature plush furnishings and stylish décor, with the very best in premium amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. There’s a personal safe for your treasured belongings, a well-stocked complimentary mini-bar and a flat-screen TV for when you fancy a little light entertainment.

Soak up the sun on the Sun Deck and lower sun deck, relaxing with a good book or admiring the views. Sun chairs and loungers are available for use by all passengers.
Alternatively, guests can pamper themselves in the onboard hair salon, or enjoy a workout session in the Fitness Centre that can be found on the Moselle Deck.

The Travelmarvel Jewel cruise can be found gliding along the rivers of Europe, with popular itineraries including European Gems that includes visits to Amsterdam, Budapest and Vienna. Typically, cruises are for 15 days, with return flights to the UK included in the price. Weave your way through charming towns and cities of some of Europe’s most charming countries, and take advantage of some sensational shore excursions (there are 20 to choose from) such as tours of the dramatic Drachenburg Castle, Melk Abbey and the Viennese food market, before enjoying a twilight cruise along the beautiful Danube River.
