Cruising to Aruba

Even the name Aruba sounds exotic and enticing, and that's exactly what this tiny island off the coast of Venezuela is. Measuring just six miles across at its widest point, it's essentially no more than an idyllic speck of sand in the Caribbean Sea, making it the perfect setting for a desert island getaway. Naturally, the beaches are among the top attractions for anyone visiting Aruba, and despite being such a small isle, it boasts a huge number of fantastic sandy stretches where you'll have the chance to get as active or idle as you like.

Among the top places to visit is Baby Beach, so named because the water is extremely shallow, making it perfect for youngsters, while also giving the water an extra clear complexion. As a result, it's a great place for snorkelling as well as swimming, and provides the kind of setting you'd normally have in mind when fantasising about Caribbean beaches.

Another of Aruba's most popular spots is Eagle Beach, which is renowned across the world for its outstanding beauty, while Hadikurari Beach is the number one surfing location on the island. Also worth a visit are the likes of Palm Beach, Rodgers Beach and Druif Beach, to name but a few.
